Car Fire Ignites Pearl River Garage
All she did was try to start it, the homeowner told police.
At 2:15 Friday, police and firefighters were called to a structure fire on Lombardi Road in Pearl River.
When Orangetown police arrived, flames were coming out of the garage and the fire was spreading to the house.
Pearl River and Nanuet fire departments responded and extinguished the blaze.

The homeowner told police that when she started the car in the garage, she heard a loud noise. Smoke began coming from under the hood and then the car burst into flames.
