Visitation is April 4 for Constance Cunningham

Constance M. Cunningham, 82, longtime Rockland County resident, residing in Pearl River for last 14 years, died March 31, 2014. Connie was born July 8, 1931 in Manhattan, NY the daughter of the late Karl and Johanna Katherine (Nagle) Resent.

Previously, Connie worked as a district secretary for New York Telephone; secretary for Ciba Geigy, Holt Construction, Advanced Cardiovascular, and Dermatology Center of Rockland. In her younger years, Connie enjoyed gardening, swimming and dancing. In her golden years, she enjoyed visits from family and friends, knitting, reading and watching old television programs.

She is survived by her six children (Ann Winslow, Thomas Cunningham, Susan Russo, Kathleen Neu, Kevin Cunningham, Timothy Cunningham), their spouses, 15 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, (her twin) Doris Campolongo, Monica Sparling and brothers, Karl Resent and Edward Gilligan.

The family will receive friends and family Friday, April 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, Inc. New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Rd., West Nyack, NY. Burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery Rockland Lake, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , (POB 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908) or the Library Association of Rockland County, PO Box 917, New City, NY 10956 (she appreciated their funding of the Home Bound Delivery Service at the Pearl River Library, of which she was a member).
