Chance For Homeschooler Group Recreation
The program, Homeschool Day at Spins Hudson, will start Sept. 12.
PEEKSKILL, NY — Parents who homeschool their children will have a chance this school year to meet up with other families for recreational activities on a monthly basis. The program, Homeschool Day at Spins Hudson, will start Sept. 12.
One of the concept's organizers is Victoria Serafino, a homeschooling mom.
"Homeschool families are often on tight budgets and finding affordable activities is not so easy," Serafino told Patch. "Spins is offering families a highly discounted rate that can help bring homeschoolers together for the whole afternoon to socialize, get exercise and have fun together."

Monthly, homeschoolers would be able to spend three hours with others with choices including ropes, laser tag and arcade games.
"Most homeschooling families will often drive an hour or more to get to different homeschool events," she said.

The concept was tried out in June, and homeschool families who attended thought it was an excellent deal, she said. "Parents could watch or also join in and pay to try out all the activities. If you are just watching there are plenty of places to relax and talk to other parents."
