The cafeteria and tech space were part of $3 million in capital improvements carried out in district schools this summer. The projects were funded by a bond issue approved by district voters in May 2011.

State Sen. Greg Ball, R-Patterson, was also present to take part in a ceremonial check presentation for a $75,000 “bullet aid” grant that will be used to provide wireless Internet to the high school. In addition to the $75,000, Ball was able to secure another $50,000 grant for the district’s new 21st Century Learning Center.
