Peekskill, NY is home to the original yellow brick road from The Wizard of Oz that the author, L. Frank Baum, was inspired by. He attended his only formal education here at Peekskill’s Military Academy from 1868-1870 and in 1905 the Colonial Theater from New York City put on a sold-out show here. Cast members hail from New York City through Yonkers and Poughkeepsie.
