Friends of Library Present Student Art Awards Friends of Library Present Student Art Awards

Nassau County , (D-Woodbury) and other public officials presented awards to winners of the Friends of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library Art Contest recently.

The 13th annual contest, run in conjunction with Plainview JFK High School and in cooperation with district Director of Art Judith Chen, took place May 13 and honored students for their achievements in six categories

Every entry is notable and recognized as part of the exhibit, which remains on display for several weeks. This year saw more than 120 entries.

The winners all receive a certificate from the Friends as well as a citation from state Assemblyman Chuck Lavine, Nassau Legislator Judith Jacobs and Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto (who was represented at the event by Councilwoman Rebecca Alesia.
