“This is a great new concept that has been long overdue,” said Walter Kueffner of the Running Club, who heads the Race Committee. “We thank County Executive and the County Parks Department for cooperating in adding all these new programs leading up to the Long Island Marathon, and we are thrilled that so accomplished a runner as Shari Klarfeld was on hand to help us celebrate this great series.”
