The first week in April brought a series of big stories to Plainview. Here's the news week in review;

1. : A Nassau County Grand Jury has indicted a Plainview mother on murder charges, alleging she intentionally fed her 8-year-old daughter food she was allergic to. The indictment brought to light some

2. Dr. Lorna Lewis, appointed unanimously by the school board Monday night, is an accomplished administrator and an expert in curriculum. She will begin leading the Plainview school district this summer.

3. Nationwide 10K Run for ASPIRE:  The 10K race Sunday drew 800 people to the streets of Plainview in a competition to benefit the charity.

4. Passing Grades? Our poll about Holy Trinity raising it's passing grade to a 70 from 65 sparked a thoughtful debate with lots of voices and ideas. You can still take our poll and comment here.

5. At three levels, elementary, middle and high school, Plainview kids are being praised for their recent achievements.
