Briarcliff Rotary's "Preventative Health and Awareness": "Preventing & Reversing Alzheimer's and Dementia"
Briarcliff Rotary's presentation on Preventing and Reversing Alzheimer's and Dementia
The Rotary Club of Briarcliff Manor is delighted to sponsor a presentation on “Preventing & Reversing Alzheimer’s and Dementia” on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the Briarcliff Library at 6:30 p.m. The presentation will be made by Ms. Jacqui Bishop and Ms. Lisa Feiner of “Sharp Again Naturally,” a tax-exempt charity focusing on Alzheimer’s and dementia. Admission is free and open to the public.
Sharp Again Naturally seeks to educate the public about causes of dementia that are reversible, but rarely tested for or treated, and to fold comprehensive testing and treatment of all reversible causes into the standard of care for dementia patients, fully reimbursable by all insurance plans. It uses natural approaches, based on many decades of practice, to reverse symptoms of Alzheimer’s and dementia. These approaches have emerged from grass-roots success stories of people—including physicians—who have gotten significant positive results by addressing factors that are generally overlooked in diagnostic protocols. In addition to families and victims of dementia, Sharp Again Naturally also seeks to serve overworked physicians, researchers, caregivers, and healthcare practitioners of all kinds - and seeks to change the conversation on Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Jacqui Bishop, M.S. is a founding board member and co-chair of Sharp Again Naturally. Jacqui’s background includes practicing psychotherapy for 25 years; coauthoring books on forgiving, on loving oneself, and on functioning creatively; and working as a corporate editorial consultant, trainer, and writer, first with McKinsey & Company, Inc., for five years and then freelance ever since for a wide variety of organizations.
Ms. Lisa Feiner, a holistic life and spiritual coach for over 12 years, has taught about healing through healthy lifestyles, nutrition and connecting to our deepest selves. Earlier in her career, she worked in human resources and lived in London with her family where she learned about alternative healing therapies such as homeopathy, acupuncture and chiropractic. She now advises other coaches and has a private practice in New Rochelle. Individuals who have regained cognitive function have shown us a new paradigm of healing, and Lisa is excited to be part of this effort and share it with others.
The presentation is part of the monthly series on “Preventative Health and Awareness” sponsored by Briarcliff Rotary. For further information, contact Kris Chittur, Program Coordinator, Health And Awareness” Series, and Past President, Rotary Club of Briarcliff Manor, at kchittur@post.harvard.edu.
