State troopers, Port Chester, Rye Brook and Westchester County police join forces for anti-drunken driving effort.

[UPDATE] 12 Charged at Overnight Road Checkpoint Set Up By Police

UPDATE (1:30 P.M. MONDAY) - Twelve people were arrested after they were stopped in an overnight sobriety road checkpoint set up by state troopers and police from Port Chester, Rye Brook and Westchester County.

The anti-DWI effort ran from Saturday into Sunday morning.

State Police said they made two arrests in the operation:

- Richard Zesua, 50, of 44 Winant Ave, Ridgefield Park, NJ, was charged with driving while intoxicated.

- Stephanie Cuomo, 22, of 23 Division St., Port Chester, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.

They were both released pending a Feb. 6 hearing in Rye Town Court.

Port Chester village police said they made two arrests in the operation. Details of those arrests will be available later today.

Rye Brook police said they made one arrest during the operation:

- Christian Kafentzis of 234 N. Terrace Ave., Mt. Vernon, was charged with for DWI at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was later released pending a hearing in Rye Town Court on Wednesday.

Westchester County Police said they made seven arrests in the operation:

- Rosanna Pagan, 55, of Greenwich, CT, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday. 

- Richard Sause, 71, of Greenwich, CT, was charged with firsth-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a felony, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, at 1:33 a.m. Sunday.

- Jeffrey Breton, 37, of Greenwich, CT, was charged with DWI at 1:41 a.m. Sunday.

- Jonathan Calderon, 22, of King St., Rye Brook, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, at 1:43 a.m. Sunday.

- Juan Juarez, 42, of Norwalk, CT, was charged with DWI at 2:33 a.m. Sunday.

- Juan Figueroa, 33, of Norwalk, CT, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, at 2:49 a.m. Sunday.

- Victor Londono, 22, of Stratford, CT, was charged with DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor, at 5:40 a.m. Sunday.

All were taken to at county police headquarters in Hawthorne to be processed and were later released pending hearings on Feb. 14 in Port Chester Village Court.

Westchester County Police also made four other DWI arrests over the weekend in Westchester County. Among those charged was Felipe Calderon, 56, of Highland Street, Port Chester, who was involved with an accident at 2:48 a.m. Sunday on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Eastchester.

Police said Calderon struck a guide rail and he was later charged with driving while intoxicated.
