Voter's Guide: Port Washington School Budget, Board Election

Voter's Guide: Port Washington School Budget, Board Election

Port Washington School District residents will vote on the district’s $144 million proposed budget for the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday.

The proposal calls for a 3.79  percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.35 percent percent tax levy increase, which is within the state's tax cap.

School officials say the fiscal plan preserves all academic programs and services, maintains current school staffing levels and continues facilities and technology upgrades.

Two candidates are running for two school board seats. Incumbents Alan Baer and William Hohauser are both running unopposed

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday in Port Washington. Find polling information and district's budget newsletter here.
