Elaine Phillips Wins New York's 7th Senate District

Adam Haber (D) ran against Elaine Phillips (R) for a seat in the Senate.

Voters elected a new candidate to New York's seventh senate district on Tuesday.

Republican Elaine Phillips defeated Democrat Adam Haber in the local election.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Phillips has 65,432 votes compared to 61,007 votes for Haber.

Sen. Jack Martins did not seek re-election in the Senate to run for Congress. Phillips is the Mayor of the Village of Flower Hill while Haber is a businesses man and served as a member of the Roslyn school board.
