NYP Drill on Brooklyn Bridge Triggers Alarm
Dozens of people scaled the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday as part of a New York Police Department emergency services drill.
BROOKLYN, NY -- A routine police drill triggered alarm in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon when dozens of people were seen scaling the Brooklyn Bridge.
The drill, which started at about 4 p.m. Saturday, is a New York City Police Department Emergency Service Unit exercise, said Officer Sochia Mason.
“It’s juts a routine drill,” Mason said. “We do it all the time.”

The drill is not expected to cause any road closures, but traffic may be jammed up on the bridge as drivers slow down to watch.
The site of a police helicopter and boat confronting dozens of people at the top of the bridge lit up Twitter, where many posted photos and videos, wondering what was going on.
