Fully-Engulfed Vehicle Fire In Hamptons Sparks Delays: FD

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A car erupted into flames on Sunrise Highway in Hampton Bays Tuesday morning, officials said.
The Hampton Bays Fire Department was dispatched at 7:14 a.m. to the scene of a "fully involved vehicle fire" in the eastbound lane of Sunrise Highway just west of the Shinnecock Canal bridge, officials said.
Heavy rescue engines had the fire quickly under control, the HBFD said. No one was injured, fire officials said.
