Gang Challenge Leads to Alleged Assault

A 14-year-old Children’s Village student said two students standing next to him were allegedly talking about the Crips gang and beating people up on Oct. 2 while standing outside the door to his math class when one of the students dared the other to strike him in the face. 

The 14-year-old victim was allegedly punched in the head and the face and attempted to defend himself by pushing his attacker, when a third student allegedly punched the victim in the his side and chest—police said.

The three suspects a 13-year-old and two 14-year-olds were arrested on Oct. 4 and charged as minors with assault in the third degree. They were issued tickets to appear in court on Oct. 11
