Crime Watch, Part II: Chainsaws Stolen, Bikes Taken from Rack

Larceny

  • A complainant from Yaphank reported to police on Oct. 15 that sometime between Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. and Oct. 15 at 6:15 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole four chainsaws valued at $3,000 total from a truck parked in the vicinity of 36 Merrick Rd.

  • A complainant from Northport reported to police on Oct. 15 that sometime between Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. and Oct. 15 at 6:15 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole a chainsaw valued at $650 from a truck parked in the vicinity of 36 Merrick Rd.

  • A complainant from King Kullen, located at 127 Sunrise Highway, reported to police on Oct. 16 at 2:20 p.m. that a contracted cleaning employee stole a pack of Newport cigarettes valued at $10.59.

  • A complainant from Wachusetts Street reported to police on Oct. 17 that sometime between 7:35 a.m. and 7 p.m., an unknown person(s) stole a secured purple Raleigh bicycle valued at $400 from the bicycle rack at North Village Avenue and Front Street.

  • A complainant from Rockville Drive, Baldwin, reported to police on Oct. 18 that sometime between Oct. 17 at 7:45 a.m. and Oct. 18 at 1:30 a.m., an unknown person(s) stole a black 2013 Raleigh bicycle valued at $450 from the bicycle rack at Front Street and North Park Avenue.

  • A complainant from Knollwood Road reported to police on Oct. 19 that sometime between 1 and 1:15 p.m., an unknown person(s) stole a purse containing $22 and two credit cards while at Philips House, located 28 Hempstead Ave.

  • A complainant from Garden City reported to police on Oct. 19 that sometime between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m., an unknown person(s) stole her Apple iPhone valued at $400 while at Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 North Village Ave.

Unusual Incident

  • A complainant from Lakeview Avenue reported to police on Oct. 14 at 7:46 p.m. that an unknown person(s) made an unauthorized $503 ATM withdrawal against her Citibank MasterCard debit account.

  • A complainant from Banks Avenue reported to police on Oct. 15 at 12:30 p.m. that sometime since Oct. 7, an unknown person(s) made deposits and withdrawals from his Chase bank account without authorization.  

  • A complainant from Lawson Avenue reported to police on Oct. 17 at 6:35 p.m. that sometime since Oct. 14, an unknown person(s) debited $2,200 from her Chase checking account without authorization.

  • A complainant from Parkwood Court reported to police on Oct. 18 at 10:35 p.m. that an unknown person(s) used his personal information and purchased an iPad valued at $629 and an iPhone valued at $640 from an AT&T store located in Poughkeepsie without authorization.

Criminal Mischief

  • A complainant from Fairway Road, Oceanside, reported to police on Oct. 15 that sometime between Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. and Oct. 15 at 9 a.m., an unknown person(s) damaged a storefront window valued at $2,000 at Sera Jewelers, located at 308 Sunrise Highway.

Property Damage

  • A complainant from East Rockaway reported to police on Oct. 14 that sometime between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., the front and rear bumpers of her 2003 Mercedes-Benz vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked at Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 North Village Ave.

  • A complainant from Merrick Road reported to police on Oct. 14 that sometime between Sept. 14 and Oct. 10, her 2008 Jeep vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked in Municipal Parking Field #8.

  • A complainant from Mount Avenue, Oceanside, reported to police on Oct. 16 that sometime between 5 and 10:45 p.m., the front bumper and driver side fender of his 2009 Toyota vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked at Gutterman’s Memorial Chapel, located at 175 North Long Beach Rd.

  • A complainant from Merrick Road reported to police on Oct. 18 at 7:29 p.m. that a motor vehicle accident had occurred in NCPD jurisdiction resulting in damage to a building located in Rockville Centre. Building department personnel responded to the scene.

  • A complainant from Oak Street reported to police on Oct. 19 that sometime between 1 and 6 p.m., the driver side door of his Acura vehicle was damaged by unknown means while parked on Oak Street.
