UPDATE: Man Who Broke Into Restaurant, Ate Food, Urinated in Garbage Can Won't Face Charges

UPDATE Monday 1:30 p.m.: Police say the man who burglarized The Sexy Salad in Hauppauge made restitution to the business owner, who is no longer pursuing charges against the man. Police did not identify the man.

HAUPPAUGE, NY – A man broke into a Long Island restaurant early Saturday morning, ate food, urinated in a garbage can and then fell asleep on the floor, police said.

At some point the man woke up and fled, but not before leaving a New York State driver's license and a watch at the scene, according to Suffolk Police.

The man entered The Sexy Salad located at 160 Adams Ave. in Hauppauge around 1:45 a.m. He ate food, but police did not specify what kind of food, although it was quite possibly a salad.

No arrests have been made. Police would not say if they believe the driver's license left at the scene actually belongs to the burglar.

"Per our policy, we don’t comment on suspects," a Suffolk Police spokesman told Patch.

The investigation is continuing.
