Update: Body of Rye Woman, 88, Found in Lake at Playland

Updated at 1:41 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015: Elizabeth Pratt, 88, of Rye has been identified as the woman whose body was discovered floating in the lake at Playland, reports The Journal News.

Pratt lived about a block away from the amusement park on Clark Lane. An autopsy is being conducting to determine the cause of death.

Initial reports said there did not appear to be signs of foul play, but the county police investigation into her passing is continuing.

Original story: The body of a deceased elderly woman was discovered floating in the lake outside the gates at Playland in Rye Saturday, according to county police.

The woman was in her 80s, and her car was found nearby. News 12 reports that there did not appear to be any signs of foul play.

A message to a county police spokesman was not immediately returned Sunday morning.

She had been staying with people in the area, but how long she had been in the water was not yet known.
