If documents provided by the City of Rye are accurate, right now it seems to me that interim commissioner Falk is on pace to make $20,000 more than Culross in 2014 and $70,000 more than Connors would have made.
Connors was scheduled to make $144,600 and Cuulross is being paid about $195,000 for 2014.
Falk's Lieutenant's salary is about $126,578. The City of Rye is giving him a $3,000 monthly stipend presumably to administer the Rye Police Department on an interim basis.
Despite receiving a $3,000 monthly stipend to administer the department, Falk has been paid in 2014 an additional approximately $17,000 or so thru April 29th in overtime to administer the Rye Police Department. If true, this would prorate to about $51,000 in overtime in 2014. What is the $3,000 monthly stipend for if Falk can't seem to administer the department in an 8 hour work day? Was there a secret deal made because he is paid overtime almost every day he works for administrative duties?
So when you add Falk's approximate $126,578 salary, the $3,000 monthly non-negotiated stipend and $51,000 in possible pro-rated overtime, Falk could earn about $215,000 in 2014.
Not bad for a guy who is proud to say he is a high school drop out and who was removed previously from performing administration duties for incompetence and allegations of being untruthful. In addition, he tried to bribe a union official and from what I can see, is still not properly functioning some of his administrative duties.
Where is the accountability from our Rye City Council?
