The storm has recently become significantly more dangerous. Heed all warnings.

Rye City Police Alert: Coastal flooding appears imminent, winds exceed 50 mph and the shoreline is extremely dangerous. Stay away from LI Sound. Rye Town Park is closed.

Current wind and water conditions are hazardous. Avois unnecessary travel. In particular, the water level on the coast of Long Island Sound is rising. These are dangerous, unpredictable waters as waves break over the sea wall. Please stay inside and do not put yourself or potential rescuers in harm's way. Flying debris presents further danger. 

Avoid unnecessary travel. Do not go near downed wires. Do not drive through standing water. Obey barricades/caution tape.
