Rye Figure Skating Club Celebrates 80th Anniversary With Free Show

Attendees are asked to bring a food item to contribute to a local food pantry.

RYE, NY — The Rye Figure Skating Club will celebrate its 80th anniversary by hosting a free ice skating show at Rye’s Playland Ice Casino at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11.

The one-hour show — Rye FSC 80th Anniversary Celebration on Ice — will feature more than 70 performers, many of whom live in Westchester County, including award-winning members and alumni of Rye Figure Skating Club.

There will be displays of freestyle, pairs, ice theater, ice dance and synchronized ice skating.

Following the show, audience members can take part in a free public ice skating session.

As part of the free event, Rye FSC is holding fundraisers including raffle sales and a bake sale, the proceeds of which will be divided between the Rye FSC Founders Fund and the Port Chester Carver Center, a nonprofit serving families in need.

Event attendees are asked to contribute to the Carver Center Food Pantry.

The recipient of the first Shirley W. Bourquin Scholarship will be announced at the event.
