A Rye High School graduate, now a Navy pilot, Latwin was a contestant on the popular game show.

He first appeared as a challenger on the show Monday, June 6, when he won $13,400, besting returning champion Kelly Bayles of Oklahoma.

Latwin won against two new contestants Tuesday, June 7, winning an additional $29,201.

He started Final Jeopardy in third place and came up with the correct question in the State Capitals category.

Unfortunately, new contestant Hunter Appler of North Carolina was able to get the question right and wager more money.

Latwin’s two-day winnings amounted to $42,601.
