The Sound Shore area will likely get some snow Friday afternoon into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service—not much in the way of accumulation, but strong winds combined with snowfall could bring blizzard-like conditions.

Cloudy skies and relatively mild temperatures on Thursday will give way to some light snow early Friday morning, mixed with rain in the afternoon. Then temperatures drop to the high 20s and precipitation turns to a mix of snow, sleet and rain by Friday night.

The NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Friday night, a coastal flood watch for Friday evening and a winter storm watch for Friday afternoon into Saturday afternoon.

Here's the NWS forecast for Friday:

Early Friday morning snow is likely with accumulation of less than one inch possible. Then rain after 9 a.m. which could be heavy at times, and a high near 36. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

Expect rain, snow and sleet after 9 p.m. Friday, with rain and snow heavy at times and a low around 28. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are possible.

On Saturday, there is a chance of snow before noon and then the day should be party sunny, with a high near 32 and windy. Saturday night is expected to be blustery, with a high low near 16 degrees.
