Pickup Truck Crashes Through Holtsville Building; 3 Hurt

A white pickup truck crashed through a Holtsville building on Tuesday morning, firefighters said. Three people were hurt.

HOLTSVILLE, NY — Three people were hurt Tuesday morning when a pickup truck slammed into a building in Holtsville after the driver experienced a medical emergency.

Firefighters were sent to the building on Morris Avenue around 9:45 a.m., the Holstville Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post. One person who was trapped inside and had to be rescued. Firefighters were able to stabilize the building and prevent further damage. Brookhaven building officials were checking the building to ensure it's structurally sound.

In all, three people suffered minor injuries, the fire department told Patch in a Facebook message. The department said it couldn't elaborate on the medical emergency due to privacy restrictions.

Photos posted on social media showed a white GMC pickup truck crashed between open doors of the building in a freight entrance. An electrical box and large concrete blocks were scattered on and around the front of the truck.

Further details weren't immediately available. A message left with the Holtsville Fire Department wasn't immediately returned.
