Sachem East Lax Player Commits to Play Division I

Junior attackman selects St. Johns University to play lacrosse, major in business.

Sachem East Lax Player Commits to Play Division I

Sachem East Varsity Attackman Jason DeBenedictis has committed to play college lacrosse for the Division I St. John's University Red Storm when he graduates in 2014.

According to LILacrosseNews.com, DeBenedictis has decided to major in business at the Queens-based University, because of his comfort level with the coaches, and the campus' proximity to home.

DeBenedictis was chosen as a Suffolk County All-Division player last year, and a Bluechip 225 All-Star for Sachem East. Speaking of his varsity squad's prospects this coming spring, DeBenedictis said "“We are going to be very good this year with a high powered offense and we hope to make a strong push for a Suffolk County Championship.”

St. John's is currently coached by Jason Miller, who is entering his seventh season at the helm and coming off the university's most successful run in its history. The Red Storm defeated Notre Dame and made it all the way to the Big East Championship game, but lost to 3-time champion Syracuse.
