Driver Escapes Injury In West Sayville Car Fire

The blaze broke out on Sunday evening.

WEST SAYVILLE, NY - Firefighters battled a car fire that broke out in West Sayville Sunday evening.

The West Sayville Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to the blaze on eastbound Sunrise Highway at about 4:36 p.m. The blaze occurred in front of Sunrise Toyota.

The driver managed to pull over and get out of the mini van safely.

No injuries were reported. The road was briefly closed while officials put out the fire.
