Man in Critical Condition After Being Hit by SUV in Bohemia
The accident occurred Friday evening, police say.

Police are investigating a crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Bohemia Friday evening.
According to police, a man was walking in the roadway in front of 16 Orville Drive when he was struck by a southbound 2002 Chevy Suburban at about 6:45 p.m.
The pedestrian, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue before being transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said. He is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV, a 36-year-old Shirley man, stayed at the scene and attempted to help the victim, police said. The driver and his two sons in the SUV were not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
