Greenburgh Update: 3,100 Still Without Power

Ten days after Hurricane Sandy hit, there are still 3,100 Greenburgh residents without power.

According to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, 12 Con Ed restoration crews are assigned to Greenburgh now and working today to get power turned back on.

"Hopefully, significant progress will be made today," Feiner said in a statement.

After the hurricane 9,500 people were out of power.

After the Nor'easter, four additional trees came down in Greenburgh, he noted, and one town truck caught fire on Donald Drive.

Feiner said that this week, the only recycling being collected is brush and leaf bags. There will be no plastics and paper collection.
