Numi & Company Cutting, Styling Scarsdale

The Harney Road hair salon is servicing clients from throughout Westchester.

For the past three years, Numi & Company Salon on Harney Road has been cutting, smoothing and styling the manes of many Westchester residents.

Since co-founders Gabriel Abrams and Nuriel Abramov decided to leave New York City for Scarsdale, and bring that city glam to Westchester County, women and men from around the area have been getting primped, styled and pampered at the Harney Road shop.

Abrams, the creative director of the Scarsdale location, said over 4,000 clients enjoy the services of Numi & Company, staffed with 10 stylists and two receptionists.

Many of the clients were clients of both Abrams and Abramov's while they worked in NYC. Now, those Westchester clients no longer have to travel into NYC for a great cut, color or blowdry.

"We were working in the city and saw a big demand out in Westchester County," Abrams said. "We decided to open up a small, boutique salon."

The Russia native and Queens resident brings over a decade of hair dressing experience, including John Freida in NYC, to his customers.

"Clients get excited to hear we came from New York City," he said.

The boutique salon offers high-end products, a blowdry bar and focuses on cuts and styling, the creative director said.

"We are known for our haircuts," Abrams said. "That's what we stand for. A great haircut and a great style."

His clients can enjoy that one-on-one treatment, along with a beverage or glass of wine, while getting coiffed.

Numi & Company is open six days a week, and the co-owner said he works all six days, despite being the married father of a six-month-old son.

"I had always wanted to be an architect, but I had a cousin that was a hair stylist," Abrams said.

The lifestyle his cousin led was appealing to the then 17-year-old, and Abrams ended up pursuing hair.

"I learned and grew to love it more and more," he said. "Now, I can't picture myself doing anything but hair."

Numi & Company Salon is open six days a week, including Sunday, and closed on Saturday. For a pricing list, or more information, visit http://www.numihair.com
