Car Crashes Into Long Island Home, Causing Massive Damage
The driver lost control of the car, sending it careening straight into a home, the fire department says.
MASTIC, NY — A car careened into a Mastic home Sunday morning, causing extensive damage to the home and vehicle.
According to Mastic Fire Department Chemical Company #1, the single0-vehicle crash took place at 6:30 a.m. at a house on William Floyd Parkway north of Sunrise Highway.
Chief Rudy Sunderman arrived to find that the driver had lost control and struck the home.

Fire department members secured the car and searched the home, finding it "thankfully finding it unoccupied," officials said.
The sole occupant of the car was transported to Brookhaven Hospital by Mastic Ambulance Company for evaluation of his injuries, fire department officials said.
