Emmanuel Amaral, 42, collected $2,000 in cash as well as a check for $2,800, police said, for a 2006 Ford Van he was allegedly selling.

Police said Amaral, who told authorities that he sells cars out of Jake’s Towing and Recovery at 4 Yerk Ave. in Ronkonkoma, has been charged with similar crimes in the past.

That's why police think other incidents involving Amaral may have gon unreported, and they are asking anyone with knowledge to call CrimeStoppers at 631-854-8452.
