Moe's in Smithtown to Appear on 'Undercover Boss' Friday

If you plan on watching Undercover Boss on Friday night and have dined at Moe's Southwest Grill in Smithtown, some of the scenery on the show will be familiar to you.

The show was filmed in the Route 111 eatery for the episoide that will air on CBS at 8 p.m. on Friday.

The undercover boss for this episode is Lorne Abony, the CEO and Chairman of Mood Media, the company that provides the music and visual media for Moe's.

"They (CBS) contacted me probably a month ahead of time and they asked if they could film here, and they worked around my schedule, they were very good," said Moe's of Smithtown Owner Bill Mullaney.

Mullaney said he will not appear in the episode but did have a chance to meet Abony.

"They were very protective of him, he had someone with him the entire time that wouldn’t let him talk to anybody, they didn’t want anything getting out," Mullaney said.

To avoid having anyone know Abony was the CEO and Chairman, Mullaney said the Muzak music system installer was told that Abony was in a contest to try to change his life working with Muzak to do an installation and the installer would report to the company later on how he worked and if he was suitable to work for the company.

Mullaney said he only found out that the episode would air on Thursday and was not sure if his specific location would be mentioned in the episode.
