Public Info Sought For a Greener Long Island

Help plan a cleaner, greener Long Island by providing input to create a regional sustainability plan for Long Island.

The public is invited to attend a meeting and contribute ideas for the regional sustainability plan being created through the Cleaner, Green Communities grant.

The sustainability plan will focus on greenhouse gas reduction and job creation within the topic areas of: water management, waste management, community development & housing, energy and transportation, land use and livable communities. The eight month planning process will be completed by the end of April.

There will be a meeting for Suffolk County on Tuesday, March 5 from 7-9 p.m. at Islip Town Hall West, located at 401 Main Street in Islip.
