Man Crashes Into Tree After Apparent Medical Episode: SCPD
The man crashed while driving on the LIE during rush hour on Friday morning.
HAUPPAUGE, NY - A man crashed into a tree after suffering for an apparent medical event while driving on the Long Island Expressway on Friday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
The man was driving a car westbound on the LIE near exit 56 in Hauppauge when his car left the road and struck a tree at 7:56 a.m.
Police believe he may have suffered a medical event.

He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.
He sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The Department of Transportation reported that the incident was cleared by 8:15 a.m.
