A 24-year-old Water Mill man was killed and a Hampton Bays woman was seriously injured in a single-car crash in Southampton early Saturday morning, Southampton Village Police said.
At 2:37 a.m., members of the Southampton Village Police Department responded to a one-car accident on Flying Point Road near the intersection of 27A in Southampton. Upon their arrival on the scene, officers found a 1997 Toyota Avalon next to a tree, with two occupants, police said.
According to the police, the passenger, Jason H. Pollack, was transported from the scene to Southampton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Members of the Southampton Fire Department extricated the car’s driver, Allison Jane Rydberg, with the “jaws of life” tool.
