2 Arrests on Shinnecock Reservation After 1 Man Tussles with Cops

The following arrests were reported by the Southampton Town Police Department and New York State Troopers over the past week. A charge is an accusation. Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Southampton

Two men were arrested after a domestic incident on the Shinnecock Reservation in Southampton on Oct. 26.

Kumet Acosta, 22, was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, on Church Street at about 2:45 a.m. 

According to State Police, Yoteh B. Eleazer threw a flower pot through the side window of a Southampton Town police cruiser and Eleazer and an officer got into a physical confrontation. Eventually Eleazer was subdued and taken into custody. State police charged him with second-degree assault, a felony, fourth-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in the second-degree, all misdemeanors, at 3:15 a.m. He was arraigned and held in Suffolk County jail on $14,000 bail.

Acosta was arraigned and held in the Suffolk County Jail on $4,000 bail

A Southampton man was arrested on Oct. 25 and charged with violating a court order.  According to police, the man made several phone calls to the complainant, who had an Order of Protection, and even visited the complainant’s house. He was charged with criminal contempt in the second-degree, a misdemeanor.
