Southampton Cops: Don't Drive, Unless Necessary
The department has responded to a steady stream of car accidents on Tuesday.
As of 3:30 p.m. snow accumulations are making for messy and dangerous road conditions, police said.
"As long as everyone does their due diligence, they should get home safely," said Southampton Town Police Sergeant Michael Joyce.
Joyce urged motorists to use extreme caution while driving, noting that the police department has responded to a steady stream of accidents since snow started falling Tuesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, t en to 14 inches of snow are expected to wallop the Long Island area before the last snow flake falls sometime Wednesday morning.
