MAHOPAC, NY — A tow truck burned up Saturday afternoon on Route 6N.

Dispatchers sending out the call at 4:15 p.m. did not know if the truck was inside or out, but the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department confirmed on arrival that the truck, which was fully involved, was outside and away from any other vehicles.

Firefighters arriving at the scene, at the Putnam-Westchester border, quickly stretched a line and extinguished the fire.
