Cops: Teen Carried Fake ID, Faces Felony

An 18-year-old Southeast resident is facing a felony charge after police found her to be in possession of a forged driver's license, according to officials.

State troopers from Southeast Barracks of the New York State Police arrested the young woman at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Authorities say she was leaving a gas station on Main Street in Brewster when a trooper spotted the case of beer she was carrying, and asked for identification because she looked younger than 21.

Officials found the teen to be in possession of a forged piece of identification, aimed at resembling a New York State driver's license.

Police charged the defendant with second-degree forgery, a felony, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol, violations. The teen was released pending a Feb. 7 appearance in Brewster Justice Court.
