At 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday, the Syosset Fire Department was called to a reported transformer fire at Crossways Park Drive in Woodbury.

Though initial reports claimed there was a roof fire, arriving units found no fire there. Fire fighters instead found that a utility pole with three transformers on it had burned in half, putting the transformers in danger of falling to the ground.

The building complex was evacuated and Long Island Power Authority was notified to respond immediately. No injuries were reported.
