Police: Teen Throws Cup of Bleach at Counselor's Face

The 16-year-old girl was a resident at a social services organization in Syosset.

A 16-year-old Baldwin girl was arrested Friday after she threw a cup of bleach at a female counselor’s face at MercyFirst, a social services organization in Syosset, police said.

According to authorities, MercyFirst resident Liana Brown was reprimanded by a female counselor for taking another student’s’ food around 4:45 p.m. at the non-profit organization, located at 525 Convent Road.

Brown went into the cafeteria kitchen and came back with a cup of bleach, which she threw at the counselor’s face, police said.

The 53-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital and was treated for chemical burns to her face and eyes. She was later released.

Brown is charged with second degree assault. She will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
