School Board Election Candidates

Three people, including two incumbents, are running unopposed in Tuesday's election.

School Board Election Candidates

There are three candidates running for three positions in this year's Syosset school board elections, two of which are incumbents. Each term last three years, and all candidates are running unopposed.

Voting takes place Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at

Dr. Michael Cohen - Cohen has four children attending schools in the district and is seeking re-election to his third term on the school board.

April M. Neuendorf, Vice President - Neuendorf, 50, is a Woodbury resident and is also seeking re-election to her third term. 

Laura Schlesinger - Schlesinger, 46, is the only newcomer. Schlesinger, a Syosset resident, is Co-President on the chair. 

*Neuendorf declined a request for an interview; Cohen and Schlesinger could not be reached.
