A bar and restaurant have signed on as future tenants of the former Syosset Ford dealership on Jericho Turnpike.
According to Dennis McCoy of NAI Long Island Real Estate, approvals have already been put through and the process has begun to redevelop the vacant property.
One 3,000 square foot restaurant and one 6,000 square foot restaurant and bar have signed on as tenants of the building, according to McCoy. The current 24,584 square foot shell of the former car dealership is to be redeveloped into a high end retail center.
"We hope to be doing construction within 90 days," said McCoy, who added that Town of Oyster Bay approval and other pieces of the process must be completed first. "We think people are going to be very happy with what goes there."
NAI will be adding posters to the area depicting renderings of the future construction once approvals go through. McCoy said once more information and tenants are secured, the realty company would be able to release more details on what businesses will be there.
Vacant since April 2011, the 3.04 acre property at 240 Jericho Turnpike lies next door to the Muttontown Plaza. The large structure, which still bears the shadow of the former business' logo, has 30,000 interior square feet and a parking lot large enough to fit a whopping 600 cars.
