Summer Arts Camp is offering a new 5-day architecture studio, Draw It, Design It, Build It as part of its camp offerings. For children entering fourth through sixth grades, the studio camp will take place Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25 from 9:15 am to 2 pm at the Morse Elementary School in Sleepy Hollow.
Campers will do a range of fun building projects and neighborhood investigations. They will design their fantasy dream house, a soaring skyscraper, or their very own version of a new Tappan Zee Bridge. The architect educators will lead kids to think big and build big, learning about form, function, structure and materials along the way. In addition, they will learn to use the tools and strategies of architects and designers – all while having a great time!
The camp will be led by educators from the Dobbs Ferry-based ArchForKids, which provides engaging learning experiences grounded in architecture and design. ArchForKids partners with schools, community centers and libraries, and recently served as artist/educator in residence for the Hudson River Museum. Learn more at www.archforkids.com.
