The following information was supplied by the .

Coffee, Please?

On July 26 at 12:36 p.m., a caller reported that an older white man wearing a gray t-shirt and a baseball cap was asleep on the counter in the Tarrytown Centre's Dunkin' Donuts. Officers responded and spoke to man who said he was tired from a medical treatment.

Live Wires, Tree Fire

On July 26, at 7:37 p.m., a 911 caller reported that wires were arcing on Church Street. An example of arcing wires can be seen on YouTube here. Officers on scene a few minutes later requested the fire department for a tree on fire in the area. A second transformer was reported on fire. Con Edison had been contacted for repairs.

Not My Tree

A caller reported to Police Chief Scott Brown on July 27 at 12:12 p.m., that a tree owned by Westchester County at the transfer station at South Depot Plaza had fallen on her Macarthur Lane yard. DPW foreman Scott Weaver had responded and confirmed that the tree was not a village tree. At the transfer station, the county reported that the tree would be cleaned up and Brown later also notified the county superintendent about the tree. However at 5 p.m., a county inspector said it was not in fact their tree.

Home Identity Theft

A employee called in to report a suspicious incident. Hudson Homes was currently listing a Devries Street home for sale on Craigslist. However, they came across the very same information and photos from the listing posted in another Craigslist ad, listing the home as a rental. The realty office had no idea who re-listed the property. Incident noted for record and detective division notified.

Tree vs. Car

A call came in on July 27 at 10:45 p.m. for a tree limb that fell on a car parked at restaurant. The tree fell onto an employee's car, cracking the windshield and damaging the front hood.

Right to Bear Toys

On July 29 at 5:31 p.m. a caller reported a white man carrying a rifle and a pistol on Crest Drive, last seen near Kerwin Place. Officers found the man picking his children up on Union Avenue at Kerwin. He told officers that the kids (14-years-old) were attending a birthday party and playing with their airsoft guns in the woods.

An  airsoft gun shoots plastic pellets. It is a non-lethal device, though they often look very realistic. Some are replicas of military assault weapons or handguns. There are even airsoft  "hand grenades" and "land mines" for historical reenactors to use.
