“As the world witnesses extremist attacks on religious and ethnic communities and random terrorist attacks, please join us to affirm our belief in religious freedom for all,” organizers said in a prepared statement.

Leadership of the region’s Jewish community, the four major Protestant groups, the Catholics, the Mormons and the Muslims have come together to create this event, along with 11 Larchmont and Mamaroneck houses of worship.

The centerpiece of the service will be a procession of a Torah scroll rescued from the Holocaust that had been destined for Hitler’s planned Museum of an Extinct Race.

An optional pre-event “We Walk Together” march will start at 2:30 p.m. at Mamaroneck Harbor and proceed to the Westchester Jewish Center, 175 Rockland Ave. in Mamaroneck. Organizers said it is an easy 10-minute walk.
