Stony Brook football opens conference play against Charleston Southern on Saturday.

Ahead of Big South Opener, Seawolves Offer Ticket Special

To celebrate its historic 23-3 win over Army last weekend and cheer on running back Miguel Maysonet, who is poised to break school and conference records, the Stony Brook athletic department is offering a ticket special: 3 adult general admission tickets for $23.

To take advantage of the ticket special, which runs through Friday, call 631-632-WOLF or visit the ticket office between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Maysonet is 47 yards away from breaking the school record for most career rushing yards, which stands at 3,607 by Conte Cuttino, who graduated in 2010. Maysonet is also poised to break the Big South career record of 3,633 yards, set by current Jacksonville Jaguars player Rashad Jennings.

Charleston Southern is 1-3. The last time the Seawolves met the Buccaneers, Stony Brook came away with a 50-31 win. Stony Brook has a 3-1 record against Charleston Southern.

Looking ahead to the game, head coach Chuck Priore said in his weekly teleconference: "They're coming off a bye week, so they had an extra jump on us. They have a lot of weapons on offense and use multiple looks. Despite what their record is, they've had a lot of success stopping the run."

Game time is set for 6 p.m. at LaValle Stadium.
