Are You Heading to the Stony Brook Film Festival?

One of the region's marquee events kicks off on Thursday with the return of the Stony Brook Film Festival. But how many locals plan to attend the 10-day event?

Thursday features the , a film set in 1919 starring David Strathairn and directed by Terry Green. The show starts at 8 p.m. at the university's Staller Center for the Arts.

Opening night festivities continue with a reception starting at 10 p.m. featuring desserts and drinks.

The festival runs from July 19 to July 28, with most nights featuring two full-length and two short films.
