Crime Report: False Fire Alarm, Phone Scam Among Recent Incidents

The Suffolk County Police Department reported the following incidents between Dec. 8 and Dec. 13:

A teenager from Stony Brook was arrested Dec. 13 and charged with falsely reporting an incident in the second degree. According to police, the boy pulled the fire alarm at the BOCES Eastern Suffolk Alternative Program headquarters in Oakdale at 8:42 a.m. on Dec. 13 when there was no fire threatening the building.

A woman at St. George's Golf and Country Club reported someone punched her several times in the parking lot at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 13. No arrests were made and no injuries were reported.

A resident of Woodfield Road in Stony Brook reported Dec. 12 at approximately 4 p.m. that a telephone caller had demanded cash. Police said the incident turned out to be a phone scam.

A resident of Ramsey Court in Setauket reported Dec. 8 that an unknown person had damaged the swingset in the backyard at approximately 1 a.m. The incident is being investigated as fourth-degree criminal mischief.

A resident of Malvern Lane in Stony Brook reported Dec. 8 that an unknown person smashed the driver's side window and punctured a tire on a 1994 Ford Mustang parked in the driveway of the house at approximately 5:30 a.m.
