Smoke Forces Passengers off C Train at 72nd Street: MTA
Service on the A, C, B and D lines was affected but has since returned to normal, and MTA spokeswoman told Patch.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Passengers were forced to get off a C train at the 72nd Street station Friday morning due to a mysterious smoke, an MTA spokeswoman told Patch.
The incident occurred after the train had already reached the station, so by technical terms it was not an evacuation, the MTA said. But around 9:30 a.m. every passenger on the train had to get off and the train was left stalled in the station. Nobody was injured during the incident.
One passenger on the train said he heard loud bumps and the there was a smoky haze as people off-boarded the train.
